Although some may think its old school, the Black Diamond Light D Carabiner works in places where other carabiners just dont get the job done. Its small diameter nose fits through old bolt hangers too small for most biners, so you dont get to the end of a long slab runout only to find that you cant clip the single buttonhead. Its simple shape created a strong 24kN breaking strength. The Black Diamond Light D Carabiner also works great for racking stoppers and pins.
Bottom Line: There should be a couple Black Diamond Light D Carabiners on every trad-climbers rack.
